Well, back to the real world. After 10 days of fun in the sun, we've been stuck in the house ever since we got home. Addie came home with strep throat, so we've been avoiding friends. The big excitement of the week has been ordering a new garage door. When we moved into the house, 3 1/2 years ago, Corey stated that we needed a new garage door badly. While not very attractive, the door has always been functional and sturdy, so we've put off the replacement... mainly because I didn't see the need. So....when we arrived home from Puerto Rico late Sunday evening and pushed the button to raise the door, and it didn't work, we tried a couple more times. Corey got out of the car, and realized the door was frozen to the ground. He pushed on the bottom, and just as he freed the door, the opener (which had been working all along) ripped the arm that connected the opener to the door right off and left a big hole in the door. I guess Corey gets his wish. Oh, well...thank goodness for tax returns, I guess.

So, after nearly a year of planning, our trip to Puerto Rico has come and gone... and we're back in snowy Wisconsin. What a trip it was, though. We spent time in the ocean, the pool, the rainforest...Corey even took us on a crazy drive up and down narrow mountain roads. We saw some crazy things, had a lot of laughs, and created memories to last forever. We couldn't have asked for more. Now, we're back and Addie has strep throat so we're under quarantine for the week. Hopefully we'll be cleared by Sunday so we can go to church... missing 3 weeks would be a little hard to recover.

Well, I figured it was time to join the world of blogging. This may be a better way to communicate long distance with family and friends. Please bear with me while I get the hang of this.
